How are your waste logistics set up? This usually varies from one, two or three containers outside people’s homes. It is decisive for the way you start recycling. We build turnkey separation plants based on the situation to hand.
If there is only one grey waste stream
Then it starts with a household residual waste plant. The most elementary streams are immediately separated in this plant. Foils, hard plastics, paper, drink cartons, metals and the organic fraction. This stream is mainly made up of organic wet fraction (OWF). Adding an OWF plant is therefore a good option.

If waste is separated in the home
In some places, it’s customary to collect plastics, metals and drink cartons separately in an extra bin. In a PMD plant, these streams are reduced, separated, cleaned and prepared for further reprocessing for use in new products.

Organic matter from the residual waste
Much of household waste is made up of organic wet fraction (OWF). That’s why adding an OWF plant to a separation plant for household waste is a good option.

Vegetable, fruit and garden waste
In some places, it’s customary to collect organic waste (vegetable, fruit and garden waste) separately in an extra bin. Ideally, VFG should be fermented first. The methane emitted can be used as biogas. Afterwards, interfering substances, like glass and plastics, are filtered out of the stream, and what is left composts. Crucial minerals and organic matter make our soil fertile.

In most countries, this stream is dealt with by a separate logistics system. However, the characteristics of the waste itself are the same as residual household waste, as are the opportunities of preparing high percentages for reuse.

Mechanical separation plants increase the value of raw materials.

Plant configuration
Installing separation lines can produce up to 30 different raw materials, ranging from different kinds of plastics, glass, stone fractions, sand fractions, different metals, paper and textiles. Shredders, sieves, magnets, wind shifters, ballistic separators and infrared scanners are used to separate these materials.

There are four components that are crucial to the business case.

- Capacity. How many tons of waste can be processed per annum?
- Returns. What is the percentage of input material that can be processed?
